What was it about Herrick that enticed you to join the firm?

I spent much of my career at a large, global litigation firm, and I was seeking new challenges in my next chapter. In particular, I was seeking a firm that enabled me to continue to work with sophisticated clients to resolve complex disputes while further developing my commercial, employment and real estate litigation practices. Fortunately, Herrick checked all of these boxes. In addition, I was impressed with Herrick’s support services, including top-flight marketing, recruiting, paralegal and administrative resources. The firm also maintains an incredibly collaborative culture where lawyers do not hesitate to help each other across multiple practice areas. I routinely find myself bouncing ideas off my colleagues and joining forces to pursue new business opportunities or service clients.

Who have you partnered most with at Herrick?

My initial touch point at Herrick was my good friend and law school classmate, Sean O’Donnell—the co-chair of Herrick’s Restructuring & Finance Litigation Department. I have always had tremendous respect for Sean, and he quickly piqued my interest in Herrick. The firm had experienced significant growth in restructuring, corporate and finance litigation in recent years, and I was excited about the opportunity to contribute to this growth.

Joining the firm also gave me an opportunity to partner with Scott Mollen, with whom I had the pleasure of serving as co-counsel on a major real estate litigation several years ago. I gladly accepted the opportunity to work with him again. My desire to join Herrick was cemented after I met Carol Goodman, co-chair of Herrick’s Litigation Department and head of the Employment Group, who I frequently turn to for advice. Sean, Scott, and Carol are just a few of the many people who have welcomed me to the firm and made me feel part of the Herrick family.

What would you want people to know about Herrick and the people that make up the team?

First and foremost, I think it’s important to highlight that Herrick is a truly collegial firm. I’ve been extremely gratified by how titles do not matter here—everyone from partners, to counsel, to associates and staff roll up their sleeves and work as a team, no matter how big or small the task. With everyone rowing in the same direction, we are able to provide our clients with the highest quality of service in the most efficient way.
