Position Summary:
The Events Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing firm-sponsored events that support advertising, marketing, and business development; client engagement; Firm public relations; and employee workplace experience and benefits. This role ensures that events and programming are executed professionally while providing a seamless experience for attendees, including current and prospective clients, attorneys, and staff. This is a highly visible role and requires high-touch client service and the ability to problem-solve and collaborate across the Firm. Good judgement and ability to lead a project is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Event Planning and Execution

  • Plan, implement, and execute end-to-end logistics for external and internal events including venue research and selection, vendor coordination, contract negotiation and processing, on-site support, and post-event evaluation.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Heads partners, and other stakeholders to formulate and evaluate event objectives.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for events; monitor and manage event budgets, including tracking expenses to ensure that events are produced within budget.
  • Partner with internal teams and external service providers to ensure seamless event execution; identify issues as they arise during the planning and execution stages and troubleshoot accordingly.
  • Conduct post event reconciliation and evaluation to assess event success and/or identify area(s) for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with venue locations and vendors.
  • Remain up to date on industry trends and emerging venue locations.
  • Present thoughtful and current ideas to management concerning event opportunities and strategies for implementation of same.

Marketing/Business Development/Employee Engagement Operations

  • Run bi-monthly Wellness Committee meetings, manage Firm membership, and coordinate the planning and execution of programming throughout the year including donation drives, community and client engagement events, and other internal events and initiatives to support employee benefit programs and workplace experience.
  • Coordinate and support the Firm’s client gift program including the client holiday gifting process.
  • Partner with Human Resources to coordinate components of the employee gifting program.
  • Responsible for developing, sourcing, and ordering firm promotional items.
  • Draft and assist with preparing content on external events and internal programming for internal firm communications, social media, and the firm website.
  • Support Business Development Heads and serve as liaison with Finance as it relates to expense tracking and budgeting.
  • Regular collaboration with the BD and Marketing team on ad hoc projects and team coverage as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4+ years of experience in event planning preferred, preferably in professional services or hospitality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Acute attention to detail.

Compensation:
The range of base salary* the Firm reasonably expects to pay for this role is $85,000-$100,000. The actual base salary offered will be based on a number of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, and if applicable, certifications or other professional licenses held.

JOB SUMMARY

The Learning and Development Specialist is an integral part of our Information Technology department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver, coordinate, track and report on pre-defined training programs (including online training services) for employee onboarding, refresher training and new deployments/upgrades.
  • Track and maintain a queue of upcoming training programs for the team.
  • Assist product owners in the development of training materials and course outlines.
  • Maintain ownership of the “Solutions” library ensuring content is still relevant and fresh, as well as publishing and communicating links to new solutions.
  • Contribute to identifying use-cases, testing and user acceptance for the deployment of new solutions and upgrades.
  • Regularly walk the floor to provide impromptu training, communicating self-service resources, and gathering feedback for the team.

COMPENSATION:

  • Counsel clients on the preparation and conduct of annual and special shareholder/unit owner meetings, including election procedures and proxy matters.
  • Conduct annual and special meetings, including oversight of voting and reporting procedures.
  • Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance issues, including those related to the Business Corporation Law (BCL) and Condominium Act.
  • Assist in the review and negotiation of retail and commercial leases within co-op and condo buildings.
  • Handle cooperative and condominium closings and advise on related transactional matters.
  • Advise on trust transfers and review associated documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with partners and clients to ensure timely and accurate delivery of legal services.

The range of base salary* the Firm reasonably expects to pay for this role is $221,500-$295,000. The actual base salary within the above range will depend on number of years out of law school, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Herrick, Feinstein LLP is seeking a skilled Staff Attorney with at least 5 years of landlord-tenant litigation experience to join our Litigation team. This role involves handling a high volume of routine and complex cases, including appearances in Housing Court and Supreme Court, client advisement, and motion practice. Experience with corporate governance, condo lien foreclosures, and general real estate litigation is a plus, but not required.

Applicants must be admitted in New York State.  Applicants must have a desire to work on lean teams; gain hands-on experience with client contact; and strategize on all aspects of a matter. 

Job Duties:

  • Manage and litigate a docket of residential and commercial landlord-tenant cases, including non-payment proceedings, holdovers, HP proceedings, and related housing disputes.
  • Appear in Housing Court and other relevant tribunals to represent firm clients.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery materials, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients on matters involving rent stabilization, regulatory compliance, and eviction proceedings.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure effective case progression.
  • Stay current on changes in relevant laws, regulations, and court procedures.
