Biography

Gita Gandhi is counsel in Herrick’s Real Estate Department where she advises prominent owners, operators, developers, investors and financial institutions on a wide range of multifaceted real estate matters. These matters include sophisticated acquisitions and dispositions of fee and membership interests, complex financings and development projects. These transactions cover a range of asset classes including multifamily properties; commercial and office buildings; and hotels and resorts, for clients ranging from family offices to publicly owned REITs. Many of these transactions also include complicated development aspects and are located across the country. Gita brings her diverse experience to a multitude of transactions, analyzing and anticipating potential challenges.

Gita also manages all types of real estate financing transactions for both borrowers and lenders. These loans include negotiating and closing construction, mezzanine and mortgage loans, and loan participations and syndications, including intercreditor agreements. She also advises clients on subscription loan facilities and management company lines. Additionally, she counsels clients on workouts and restructurings, working collaboratively with Herrick Litigation attorneys when necessary.

Gita advises clients on sophisticated joint venture agreements for both general partners and sponsors as well as limited partners and equity providers.

Gita received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.

Prior to joining Herrick, Gita practiced law at Bryan Cave LLP and Shearman & Sterling LLP.
