Herrick Feinstein Recruits Arnold & Porter Tech Transactions Partner
The New York Law Journal reported on the arrival of Corporate Department partner, Jenna Levy, a technology transactions attorney who will help bolster and expand many of Herrick's established practices. The article notes that Jenna's practice "covers a broad swath of commercial and technology-focused matters, including software licensing, cloud infrastructure, financial technology, virtual currencies and AI developments."
Belinda Schwartz, Herrick's Executive Chair and Irwin Kishner, co-chair of the Corporate Department and co-chair of the Sports Law Group, were quoted in the article. Belinda noted, "that the firm is looking to the technology practices as potential growth areas in terms of talent acquisition, both for the value of those practices in and of themselves, but also to supplement Herrick’s other core practices, including real estate. Levy’s work crosses over with areas such as artificial intelligence data centers, which have an obvious real estate component, but also other areas, such as intellectual property rights, that are increasingly overlapping with major real estate deals."
Irwin added that her practice and knowledge of artificial intelligence will bolster Herrick's sports practice and its middle-market transactional work. "'What Jenna does is very related to this concept of how AI interacts with how sporting organizations maximize revenues, how they appropriately give you a space and sense of sponsorship, naming rights, and things like that,'” Irwin said. “'It's the same thing with middle market transactional. Every one of our M&A deals has a technology component to it. So Jenna, along with her clients that she's bringing over, which is really traditional tech-type practice, is extremely additive and helpful to us in building out the service offerings we're able to offer to our clients.'”
