New York Adopts New CDC Guidance
May 18, 2021Yesterday, Governor Cuomo announced that effective Wednesday, May 19th, New York is adopting the CDC’s recent “Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People” for most businesses and public settings.
This announcement applies to most commercial businesses, including offices. Governor Cuomo’s announcement provides that “the State will authorize businesses to continue to require masks for all in their establishments, consistent with the CDC guidance. In most settings, vaccinated individuals will not be required to wear a mask. Unvaccinated individuals, under both CDC and state guidance must wear masks in all public settings.” Further guidance for business mask and capacity rules is discussed.
Consistent with the CDC guidance, particular settings, including public transit, will continue to follow State's existing COVID-19 health guidelines.
