Herrick congratulates Jermaine A. Brookshire, Jr., associate in the firm’s Corporate Department and Sports Law Group, on his election as incoming Chair-Elect of the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (the “CBA YLS”). His term as Chair-Elect began on July 1, 2026, and he will assume the role of Chair on July 1, 2027.

Reflecting on the role the CBA YLS has played in his professional development, Jermaine said, "it is a privilege to be entrusted with the opportunity to serve the CBA YLS in this way, a community that has left an indelible mark on my professional journey. Over the years, it has given me meaningful opportunities to grow, to serve and to build lasting relationships within the legal community. I hope to lead in a way that reflects the values that have long guided my service—thoughtfulness, collaboration, compassion and a genuine commitment to others."

With more than 2,200 members, the CBA YLS is the largest section of the CBA. The section is dedicated to promoting justice, encouraging public service, advancing diversity and supporting the educational and professional development of young lawyers and newly admitted attorneys throughout the State of Connecticut. Through its statewide committees and regional young lawyer organizations, the CBA YLS provides educational programming, community service initiatives and networking opportunities that help foster the next generation of legal professionals.
