What’s in a Stadium’s Name? Millions and Millions of Dollars
Irwin Kishner was quoted in the Louisville Courier Journal, discussing using stadium naming rights deals to fund collegiate athletic programs. Naming rights fees average over $1 million annually in college football, and many colleges including USC and University of Washington are utilizing these partnerships to fund their athletic programs. Kishner said this will only increase, stating “I am confident that over the next year or two or three you will see a proliferation of that kind of activity. There’s too much money; money that can go directly into the programs.”
