Herrick, Feinstein LLP is pleased to announce the elevation of Brett J. GottliebK. Heather Robinson and Scott C. Ross to partner. Their promotions will become effective January 1, 2022.

Partners

Brett Gottlieb, a partner in the Real Estate Department, represents real estate owners, lessees and developers in the application process for New York City’s real property tax incentives including 421-a, ICIP/ICAP and FRESH. Brett counsels clients regarding their property tax benefit applications with respect to project eligibility, benefit calculation, benefit planning and implementation of the exemption or abatement of real property tax in the City of New York. Brett also prepares attorney opinion letters including tax projections for ICAP, 421-a and FRESH. He counsels lenders and purchasers as part of the due diligence and underwriting and underwriting requirements, and counsels both landlords and tenants with regards to property tax incentive clauses in leases.

K. Heather Robinson, a partner in the Litigation Department, concentrates her practice on securities, employment and complex commercial litigation. Heather also has experience in consumer class actions, products liability and insurance litigation. Heather is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In addition to litigating in state and federal court, Heather has significant experience before regulatory agencies as well as in alternate dispute resolution. Heather has authored and co-presented multiple continuing legal education courses on social media and its ever-evolving landscape. She also has extensive experience with e-discovery and has been involved with complex, cross-border collection and production of discovery in complex commercial matters.

Scott C. Ross, a partner in the Litigation Department, has over a decade of experience litigating complex commercial, real estate, and employment disputes in state and federal court, as well as in alternative dispute resolution forums (including JAMS and AAA). Scott has obtained countless successful outcomes for prominent real estate developers, investors, hotel owners, business executives, financial services, technology, and advertising companies, and international banking and lending institutions in the prosecution and defense of high-stakes contract and business tort claims, including breach of fiduciary duty and fraud. Scott has also obtained successful results for clients in business divorce matters, family and partnership disputes, and shareholder derivative actions. Scott’s real estate litigation experience includes commercial lease disputes, breaches of license and access agreements, construction damage claims, valuation disputes, a wide range of disputes between developers and neighboring property owners, adverse possession, zoning disputes, and Article 78 proceedings. Before attending law school, Scott gained three years of business and finance experience in the corporate world. Because of that experience, Scott has a much deeper appreciation and understanding of the needs of his business-minded clients. As a result, Scott recognizes the value of resolving disputes out of Court and always looks for creative solutions to complex disputes.
