Trump Administration and Family Reunifications

July 26, 2018 – Media Mention
NPR’s Morning Edition

Elizabeth Holtzman appeared on NPR’s Morning Edition, where she discussed the deadline for the Trump administration to reunite migrant children with their families and the Refugee Act. With hundreds of migrant parents unable to be reunited with their kids because they are already out of the country, Liz reflected on her work writing the Refugee Act of 1980. She explained, “that was a bill, a law, that was not controversial when it was passed. And that was designed to say to the world, here we are, the United States. The Statue of Liberty is real for us. We welcome people, and we have a framework for doing that. And we welcome refugees.”
