Small Business Owners Put the “Human” Back in Human Resources

Carol Goodman wrote an op-ed for Latin Business Today, discussing how the “Me Too” movement is a wake-up call for small business owners to ensure a safe and productive work environment. During the 1990s, companies were compelled to make HR changes based on sexual harassment lawsuits, but this progression was reversed around the financial crisis when HR departments were eliminated or reduced to cut costs. Goodman stressed that the decision to eliminate or reduce on-site HR departments has had serious consequences, and companies need to “put the ‘human’ back in Human Resources.”
