Two Bidders Pull Ahead in Seahawks Sale Process
Irwin Kishner, co-chair of Herrick's Sports Law Group and co-chair of Herrick's Corporate Department, was quoted in Front Office Sports in an article discussing the front-runners in the bidding war to buy the Seattle Seahawks and the potential record-breaking sales price. While sources indicate that there are two frontrunners, it still remains possible that a new bidder could emerge.
The article notes that "[e]xperts are mixed on what the Seahawks might fetch, with estimates between $8 billion and $10 billion or more. Regardless, it is widely expected to break the [current] record."
“I think we’re going to see some startling numbers,” Irwin told Front Office Sports. “I wouldn’t be surprised if they hit something like $9.5 billion.”
