Private Equity Jumps Into College Sports

Irwin Kishner, co-chair of Herrick's Sports Law Group, was interviewed on Forbes SportsMoney TV on private equity investments in college sports and the variety of revenue streams available including ticketing, in-game experiences, sponsorships, media rights and merchandise.

Irwin noted that there is tremendous opportunity for private equity to expand their value proposition in college sports in both individual universities as well as conferences. He offered his outlook for the industry on expanded financial opportunities highlighting that private equity has historically invested in professional sports, however, investments in college sports are a newer model.
