Pro Bono Online Legal Clinic with the New York State Bar Association
Herrick counsel Barry Werbin participated in a virtual pro bono legal clinic with the Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section (EASL) and the Intellectual Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, in partnership with the Graphic Artists Guild. This legal clinic was intended to provide pro bono assistance to visual artists with legal matters relevant to their work.
Each attendee received a thirty-minute, one-to-one consultation with volunteer EASL attorneys.
The following topics were eligible for counsel:
• Agreements (collaboration and ownership, licensing, independent contractor);
• Intellectual Property (copyright, trademark, fair use, registration strategy);
• Business basics (LLC or 501c3 decisions, entity formation questions); and
• General entertainment and arts contract questions
