Partners William Fried and Brendan Schmitt were quoted in The Real Deal discussing a win for our client's development of a hotel at 50 Trinity Place.

Acting Supreme Court Justice Suzanne J. Adams ruled in favor of 50 Trinity Place on March 25, granting a preliminary injunction preventing the Metropolitan Transportation Authority from enforcing a stop-work order at the property. Additionally, the judge rejected the MTA’s efforts to dismiss the lawsuit.

"We think it’s in the best interest of our client and the MTA to allow work to continue," said Bill Fried.

Brendan Schmitt added that our clients are "nothing short of ecstatic about the judge’s decision." Brendan further noted the "the judge’s comments on the application of the public authorities law, which the MTA believed allowed it to get [the developers'] construction fence out of the way."
