Chambers and Partners, the premier legal rankings directory which recognizes excellence in the practice of law worldwide, selected Herrick to be the exclusive contributor to the 2018 edition of its Sports Law and Practice Guide (USA). The guide provides expert legal commentary on key issues for businesses involved in the sports sector and is one of several scholarly guides Chambers publishes across various practice disciplines in jurisdictions around the world. Sports group co-chairs Irwin Kishner and Dan Etna co-authored the piece, along with counsel Barry Werbin and associate Briana Rose Meginniss. The guide covers all aspects of U.S. sports law including the legal structure of sports leagues, contract law principles, government regulation as it relates to labor and antitrust law and the structure of sporting competitions, intellectual property, agent issues, gender/racial discrimination, drug testing and conduct regulations, and college/amateur sports.
