NYC’s Sexual Harassment Training Requirement Goes Live Today

April 2019

As of April 1, 2019, all New York City employers are required to conduct annual interactive sexual harassment training. There is now a six-month period in which employers must provide a training that is compliant with both the City and State’s requirements before the October 9, 2019 deadline under the State law, if they have not already done so. For more information, please refer to our previous employment alert.

In addition, the NYC Commission on Human Rights (“CHR”) and NYS Division of Human Rights have each released guidance indicating that the online module published by the CHR will comply with both the City and State’s training requirements. That module can be found here.
