Elizabeth Holtzman was quoted in The Washington Post, discussing her recent resignation from the Homeland Security advisory council due to her disagreement with current immigration policies. Holtzman was one of four council members to resign from the board surrounding the Trump administration’s practice of separating immigrant families at the U.S. border. Holtzman said she did not believe the resignations would have an impact on Trump's immigration policy, but added, “I do think it’s important for the American people to see that not everybody connected with the government is a brute, is a lawbreaker and that actually some of us do have a measure of conscience.”
