Is Alabama making a bad call on daily fantasy sports?

Daniel Etna was quoted in the Birmingham Business Journal regarding the cease and desist orders issued by the Alabama Attorney General’s office to DraftKings and FanDuel, which Alabama is arguing are forms of illegal gambling. Etna told the publication that states ignore certain benefits when banning the games and believes Congress should intervene. "It's in need of uniform regulation at the federal level and it’s a fertile source of new tax revenue for Congress and states to tap into,” Etna said. “If it’s properly drafted, they should be able to preempt the state laws on the grounds of the commerce clause in the U.S. Constitution. It’ll be interesting to see how much of an interest there is in Congress to take action.
