Biography
Kimberly R. Karseboom is counsel in Herrick's Litigation Department, where she focuses on employment litigation and counseling.
Kimberly represents employers and businesses in complex disputes in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies. Her practice is particularly concentrated on employment litigation, including the defense of claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour matters, workplace accommodations and other employment-related issues. With more than a decade of litigation experience, she handles all stages of the litigation process, from pleadings and dispositive motions through discovery, depositions, mediations, trials and appeals.
In addition to her litigation practice, Kimberly serves as a trusted advisor to employers and management teams on a wide range of workplace issues. She counsels clients on employment law compliance, workplace investigations, employee discipline, accommodations, leave matters, wage and hour obligations and other sensitive personnel issues, helping organizations mitigate risk and navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.
Prior to joining Herrick, Kimberly was Of Counsel at Ogletree Deakins. Before entering private practice, she spent more than a decade with the New York City Law Department, serving in both the Tort Division and the Labor & Employment Division. In those roles, she defended claims brought against New York City agencies and gained extensive experience litigating a broad range of employment and civil matters involving one of the nation's largest public-sector workforces. She also served as Assistant Borough Chief of the Brooklyn Borough Unit, where she managed attorneys, supervised litigation, and played a key role in training and mentoring junior lawyers.
Kimberly's combination of private practice and public-sector experience enables her to provide practical, strategic counsel to employers while effectively advocating for clients in high-stakes employment matters.
