Permits Surged Before 421-a Tax Break Expired
Herrick partner, Brett Gottlieb, was quoted by The City in an article discussing the expiration of the 421-a tax incentive for real estate developers. Brett works with a number of developers on making sure their projects qualify for 421-a and other tax incentives in New York City.
Brett is quoted as saying, "421-a has never been an ideal solution, but it is the only tool that makes new construction financially feasible. I have yet to hear of a single person looking to develop a multi-family property without 421-a."
