Chair of Herrick's Land Use and Zoning Practice, Mitch Korbey, spoke at The Racing and Gaming Conference at Saratoga where he presented on a panel titled "New York Casino Expansion to New York City and Surrounding Counties: Is the Finish Line in Sight?"
The New York City area has long been viewed as one of the largest underserved gaming regions in the world. Multiple applicants are vying for a slice of this unclaimed target. Now New York has to sift through competing visions as it identifies the challenges and opportunities for the city, the region and the state. Mitch, along with his fellow presenters, discussed the legal, policy and economic challenges of the New York selection process.
