The Staten Island Advance reported on the New York City Council's approval of a 226,000 square-foot retail development on a 28.3-acre site in the Mariners Harbor neighborhood of northwest Staten Island. Herrick client, family-owned real estate developer Josif A LLC is building the large retail development, which will be anchored by a 90,000 square-foot BJ’s Wholesale Club, and will include other retail buildings, including a supermarket and gas station. Herrick partner Mitch Korbey said the developers were pleased with the approval. "This is the right thing to do. Yes, we had to make some adjustments to the plan, but we listened to the concerns and it was important to respond to them."
