Mitch Korbey was quoted in Crain’s New York Business, discussing Mayor Bill de Blasio’s proposal to require a special permit for any hotel project on property zoned for manufacturing. The permit requires a developer to go through a uniform land-use review process that is both time-consuming and expensive. Korbey said that this proposal “will have a chilling effect on hotel development at a time when we need hotels to accommodate our booming tourism and growing economy.”
