Campbell Soup Attorney Dishes Out Food Law Expertise to Students

October 24, 2016
Rutgers Law

Herrick partner Ron Levine joined Faith Greenfield, Vice President-Legal for Campbell Soup Company, in addressing an audience of Rutgers Law students on the opportunities and demands presented to those interested in pursuing a career in food law.

Drawing upon his experiences defending food and beverage companies against a variety of claims, Ron warned that the industry is often targeted by public interest groups and plaintiff’s lawyers looking to bring class-action suits, and advised that food and beverage attorneys need to develop an expertise in their clients’ businesses, terminology and objectives, coupled with an ability to deliver a realistic assessment of the likelihood of success and expected cost involved in defending a legal claim.
