Herrick represents title insurance companies primarily in New York and New Jersey on coverage issues and claims asserted against their insureds. Many of these cases involve fraudulent and criminal practices that give rise to title problems and claims, including attacks on title or the ability of a mortgage lender to foreclose. We also represent title companies in cases involving fraud or defalcation of closing funds or proceeds, working closely with federal and state authorities to investigate the fraud and recover the stolen proceeds.
