Carol Goodman, co-chair of Herrick's Litigation Department and chair of the firm's Employment Practice, spoke to SHRM about recent changes in federal, state, and city COVID-19 safety requirements relevant to New York employers.

Carol advised, "New York state and New York City employers and businesses should be on the lookout for significant changes over the next few weeks."

The article highlighted how, while the vaccine requirement for entering indoor dining, fitness and entertainment spaces has been lifted, the vaccine requirement for employers has not. Carol stated, "In other words, the requirement that private-sector workers be vaccinated to work onsite in New York City has not yet changed."

Carol referenced the NY HERO Act, which is set to expire on March 17. She explained, "We are waiting to see if this will be further extended by the governor."
