In the last 12 months, what was your top career highlight?
In the past 12 months, I closed over $600 million in loans on a range of different commercial real estate assets from multi-family buildings, industrial warehouses, mixed-used developments, single family home portfolio, condominium inventory, hotels and nursing homes. These loans were used for acquisition, construction, refinancing, line of credit and restructuring.
In the last 12 months how have you helped your industry grow through professional creativity, innovation and leadership?
While in-person conferences and events have been limited during the past few years, I have remained active in the industry by participating on various boards and professional committees. I presented at two different webinars for the Asian American Bar Association on real estate trends and the hospitality market. I have also volunteered my time in promoting diversity and inclusion within both the legal and real estate industries – which I continue to focus on as an extension of my practice.
What advice would you give the next generation of women in your industry?
My advice to the next generation is to start networking as early as possible in your career and even while in school. Your network should be as wide and broad as possible and include peers who are your age as well as veterans in your industry who can act as mentors. You never know where your next deal, client or job opportunity may come from, so keep and maintain those valuable relationships.
