NYC Housing Official Steps Down Amid Mayoral Turmoil

Herrick partner and chair of the Land Use and Zoning Department, Mitchell Korbey, was quoted in an article from Law360 Real Estate Authority discussing the resignation of First Deputy Mayor Maria Torres-Springer from Mayor Eric Adams' administration. 

Mitch said that despite Torres-Springer's departure, major rezonings started under her leadership will continue.

"It's about what's going to happen next, which is already in motion thanks to her and Dan [Garodnik]," Korbey said, referring to the director of the Department of City Planning. "Especially with the Midtown South rezoning, which is a huge body of work, and the Long Island City rezoning, a very, very important area of the city that is crying for a rezoning."
