What was it about Herrick that enticed you to join the firm?

I came over as part of a condominium and cooperative law group in late 2020. I got the call from one of the my colleagues that Herrick was interested in our group and was immediately interested because Herrick is known as one of the real estate power houses in New York. After meeting a small group of Herrick lawyers, it became clear that Herrick was a collegial and team-oriented workplace. That, in addition to its stellar reputation in the real estate world, made joining the firm an obvious choice.

Herrick’s real estate bench ensures that any matter that affects one of my clients can be serviced in house. In the past, it was a struggle to find the right person to assist with certain issues, but that is no more. Zoning question... no problem. Title insurance issues... covered.

What is the Key to successful business development?

When you service your clients’ matters with care and professionalism, promptly return their calls, and make them understand that their business is important to you, they will refer you to others who ask about you. Word of mouth has resulted in some of my best referrals. Keeping your name out there through articles and speaking is always important, but I personally find that nothing compares to a referral from an existing client who is happy with your work.

What do you want people to know about the Herrick team?

Everyone is truly great to work with and very welcoming. Even when I first joined, during continued remote work due to COVID, attorneys and staff took my calls and assisted with any questions. The firm has an excellent work environment and culture, which you aren’t able to accurately assess until you are embedded with the team. It’s been an excellent move for me and existing team – we are thrilled to be part of the Condo and Co-Op Group at Herrick.
