Elizabeth Holtzman was quoted in The Atlantic, discussing the current immigration policy in the United States. The former congresswoman spoke of the coordinated effort to reduce immigration in the U.S., and how the policy is in need of change. Holtzman co-authored the 1980 Refugee Act, which helped admit 750,000 refugees to the country. She stated, “They all made a substantial contribution to the United States, and it was done basically without much controversy – so we can accept refugees.”
