Chair of Herrick's Land Use & Zoning group, Mitchell Korbey, spoke to Crain's New York Business about New York's upcoming launch of the "Equitable Development Data Tool" website, which will give New Yorkers an interactive way to view data relating to housing and zoning. The website comes after a 2021 rule by City Council that "requires certain land use actions to include a racial equity report on how new projects affect neighborhood demographics and increase the risk of displacement," according to the article.

The article stated that Mitch explained, "The income and demographic data provided by the EDDT is already publicly available, but the interactive website will present this information on an easily understandable micro-level[.]"

Mitch highlighted, "This is very specific information, neighborhood by neighborhood, census tract by census tract... It’s information that’s out there, but this [website] will make it easily available and readily available for communities."
