Biography

Marisa Leto is counsel in our litigation department where she focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation.

Marisa has extensive experience litigating in both federal and state courts in a variety of litigation matters including contractual disputes, products liability, foreclosure, construction, and antitrust. 

Marisa’s achievements include defending and obtaining a summary judgment with costs in a federal action involving products liability claims for a major tire manufacturer and maintaining a mortgage-foreclosure action in New York State Court on behalf of an international bank.  Marisa has also argued and obtained a complete dismissal with prejudice in a matter relating to a defamation action on behalf of a national title insurance company.

Prior to joining Herrick, Marisa served as an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she represented clients in international trust matters with multi-jurisdictional and parallel civil and criminal components.  

Marisa graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University and received her law degree from The University of Chicago Law School, where she received the Thomas R. Mulroy Prize for excellence in appellate advocacy and was Executive Editor of the Chicago Journal of International Law.
