Biography

Lisa A. Gootee is counsel in Herrick's Real Estate Department where she practices in all areas of Real Estate law. Lisa's commercial real estate practice is focused primarily on representing institutional lenders in the origination and modification of mortgage and mezzanine loans across all asset classes, including ground-up construction loans, inclusive of New York building loans, and back-leverage or note-on-note financing. She also represents clients in connection with loan sales and workouts and by providing real estate experience on M&A, bankruptcy and general corporate matters.

Lisa also has significant experience representing clients on the acquisition and development of commercial and multi-family residential properties, specifically in the representation of equity clients in acquisitions of large portfolios of hotels and other commercial real estate assets.

Prior to joining Herrick, Lisa has been a member of the real estate teams at Gibson, Dunn, Loeb & Loeb, and Haynes & Boone. Before that she worked as counsel to the New York State Homeless Housing and Assistance Corporation and was an associate at Skadden.
