Jonathan Adelsberg spoke on a panel titled, "We Are Not in Kansas Anymore: Unique Issues in City Leasing" at the ICSC Law Conference. Jonathan shared the panel with Eric G. Menkes, a partner at Duval & Stachenfeld LLP in New York. The workshop focused on exclusive issues that relate to urban locations such as Boston, Chicago and New York City where retail is usually on the ground level of residential or office high rise towers. They spoke about new trends in urban locations such as retail condominium units and the legal implications of the condo declaration, building rules and regulations, bifurcated ownership, the bylaws and who provides crucial services to the tenant and what are the respective rights in the event of a project-wide repair and maintenance or default.
