Irwin Kishner appeared on a WSJ Live video segment to discuss Herrick’s representation of the World Surf League, the governing body for professional surfers, and to explain how a sport petitions the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for inclusion in future Olympic games. The IOC is poised to add surfing to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. "There has to be an international federation for the particular sport,” Kishner said. “Once there is an international federation, then there is an ability to petition the Olympic committee, which is very interested in trying to garner the millennial crowd." He added, "There are a number of different revenue streams for the Olympics, including ticket sales, sponsorship sales and media. All three of those play a significant role in garnering interest.”
