Chambers USA Recognizes Herrick’s Real Estate, Litigation and Sports Practices and Lawyers for Excellence
The latest edition of Chambers USA once again ranked Herrick’s real estate, New Jersey litigation and sports law practices for excellence, in addition to naming five Herrick partners as leading individuals in these areas.
For the 13th consecutive year, Herrick’s real estate department was ranked one of New York’s top real estate law practices. Chambers commended Herrick as an established real estate group “adept at securing land use and zoning permits for real estate owners and developers” adding that they offer “a strong network of governmental and agency contacts as well as public sector experience.” When discussing the firm’s ability, one client stated, “Herrick is always able to help move transactions forward as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
Two Herrick real estate partners were again recognized for excellence – Belinda Schwartz for New York Real Estate and Mitchell Korbey for Zoning & Land Use. A client reported that Belinda "is an excellent lawyer; her client service is fantastic, and her depth of knowledge is great," and referring to Mitch, Chambers noted that “he is highlighted for his considerable experience advising on complex rezoning and development matters.” A client also added that Mitch, “thinks creatively about the impact of zoning… his expertise has been extraordinarily useful for us."
For the seventh year in a row, Herrick’s litigation department was ranked for excellence in New Jersey commercial litigation. The team was noted for handling “a wide spectrum of civil litigation, including complex commercial disputes, real estate litigation and commercial foreclosures; [a]n impressive client roster includes high-profile players from a number of industries, such as financial institutions and food and beverage multinationals.” One client noted they’re thrilled to work with Herrick because the firm “understand[s] the nuances of our business and industry. They're also very strategic in that they've attained really great results by taking creative approaches."
Two Herrick litigation partners were also named leading individuals in New Jersey. In products liability, Ronald Levine was once again ranked and cited as "an outstanding resource for product liability,” adding, "[h]e's very experienced and has never steered me wrong." In commercial litigation, Scott Tross was once again ranked and cited for his “impressive strength in real estate disputes, his work relating to foreclosure actions, and his expert handling of disputes with zoning and planning boards.”
For the sixth year and counting, Herrick’s sports law group was once again ranked for national excellence by Chambers USA, citing that Herrick offers “counsel on complex disputes and daily advisory needs across a number of sports” and “[r]egularly advises on multimillion-dollar financing and refinancing deals.” Regarding the firm’s effectiveness, a client stated that Herrick attorneys are, “very good communicators, always accessible and very timely in their work, plus they are very thorough."
Herrick chairman Irwin Kishner was once more recognized as a leading individual who drew praise for having a "strong expertise in corporate/finance and sports-related issues" and for being "diligent, hands-on, hardworking and sincere.”
