This seminar shed light on many of the issues surrounding the intersection of zoning, sustainability, City policy and more. Developers, property owners and lenders learned about the specifics of the City's new Greener, Greater Buildings Plan, major legislation recently passed that will profoundly impact the energy efficiency of existing buildings in NYC. Additionally, we addressed green efforts in the City's Zoning Code, highlighting the current requirements, as well as how the City plans on using the Code in the future to encourage sustainable development. Finally, we discussed specific actions developers and property owners are taking right now to improve their buildings' energy efficiency.
