The panel explored enhancing your capital raising ability by managing and translating risk disclosures in your PPM into day-to-day operations.

The panel addressed best practices in managing operational risk, performance reporting and trading systems in the Dodd-Frank environment. Topics included best execution, securities allocation, valuation, master-feeder structures and side pockets with a focus on private equity and hedge funds.

Keynote Speaker:
James Berger, Partner, McLean/Clark LLC

Political research and analysis suggests that the period between now and the U.S. presidential election is one of unprecedented political, regulatory, and reputational hazard for at least certain segments of the hedge fund industry. Mr. Berger will discuss public affairs strategies and "counter-messages" that hedge funds can employ to shield themselves from this risk, increase investor confidence and influence regulators against over-burdening the industry.

Moderator:
Irwin Latner, Partner, Herrick
