The New York Times, Bloomberg, Forbes and the Financial Times are among the many news publications reporting on a high-profile Herrick representation arising from a long-running feud between billionaire hedge fund founder Louis Bacon and his Bahamas neighbor, Canadian clothing magnate Peter Nygard. Herrick is representing the respondent, a whistleblower, in a proceeding filed in New York federal court and a related California state action. The New York action is connected to Bacon's efforts to obtain court approved discovery in the U.S. for use in five defamation and two environmental lawsuits pending in the Bahamas. The federal district court recently ruled in Bacon's favor, permitting our client to turn over key evidence. In the California suit, two Nygard entities started a separate action against our client, Bacon and Bacon's private investigator.
