Excel Realty Advisors sues Engel Burman over Bristal sale

Herrick's Scott Mollen was quoted in an article about the recent lawsuit filed in New York State Supreme Court by Excel Realty Advisors against The Engel Burman Group and several affiliates for breach of contract and refusal to compensate for brokerage and consulting services. Mollen noted that Excel had "been specifically employed by Jan Burman to find a joint venture financial partner to reacquire and expand the Bristal chain of assisted care facilities," And, after Excel "accomplished precisely what it was asked to do", the defendants are now seeking to "circumvent their contractual obligation to pay a commission."
