Robert Rattet is a member of Herrick's Restructuring & Bankruptcy Group.
Bob has more than more than 40 years of experience in bankruptcy and insolvency law, with a focus on the representation of debtors in chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court workouts, and related litigation. He has been involved in several prominent national and local cases representing corporations and individuals in a wide range of industries, including the construction, real estate development, waste disposal, and restaurant industries.
Bob has acted as an operating trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and as an assignee for the benefit of creditors in several proceedings in New York State Supreme Court. He is also a certified mediator before the United States Bankruptcy Court and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
He is a long-standing member of numerous bankruptcy associations including the American Bankruptcy Institute; the Commercial Law League of America, Bankruptcy and Insolvency Division; the Turnaround Management Association; the Westchester County Bar Association; and the New York State Bar Association.
Bob has frequently been named a leading bankruptcy attorney by The Deal magazine. He has also been named a New York Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters, and is the recipient of Westchester County Bar Association's 2010 "Above the Bar" award. He is also a past honoree of the UJA-Federation Westchester Business & Professional Division.
Bob is the chairman of the board of the nonprofit Clay Art Center in Port Chester, New York, one of the largest and most active ceramic arts facility in the tri-state area. He is also on the Board of Governors for the UJA-Federation Westchester Business and Professional Division, and the Board of Directors of the Doctors Cancer Foundation.
Prior to joining Herrick, Bob was the founding partner of Rattet Pasternak LLP, a boutique bankruptcy firm based in White Plains, New York, which he founded in 1975.
