New York Law Journal: Realty Law Digest

October 15, 2014

In his weekly Realty Law Digest column (subscription required), Scott Mollen analyzes three notable cases. In Gold Street Properties v. Freeman, the court found that a tenant did sublet an apartment multiple times using Airbnb but would be permitted to cure the illegal sublet. In 2976 Marion v. University Consultation Center, a court found that a non-for-profit corporate tenant was not entitled to a renewal lease. In the third case, Matter of PWV Acquisition v. Towns, a state agency decided that a landlord must reduce the rents of tenants because he neglected maintenance services.
