July 22, 2010 – Press Release
Herrick, Feinstein LLP

Herrick's art law team brings the long-running United States v. Portrait of Wally case -- involving a valuable Nazi-looted painting -- to a successful settlement on behalf of the Estate of Lea Bondi Jaray. The settlement provides for compensation to the heirs that reflects the true value of the looted painting and a permanent acknowledgment of the painting's true provenance. The painting will be on view at the Museum of Jewish Heritage -- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust before returning to the Leopold Museum in Vienna.
