The New York Times covered a lawsuit filed against the Metropolitan Museum of Art, seeking the return of the Picasso painting The Actor. The suit, filed by the administratrix of the estate of Paul and Alice Leffmann, seeks the return of a painting that the Leffmanns were compelled to sell during the Holocaust era as they fled from the Nazis in Germany and the Fascists in Italy. In the article, Lawrence Kaye stated, “If you look at the complaint, it makes clear with think [the Met] didn’t act by minimum standards.”
