Jason Kleinman was quoted in Artsy, discussing the Arcis Art Storage facility in Harlem and Free Trade Zones (FTZs) for art in the United States. Kleinman said that internationally, “These locations confer great tax advantages to the people who use them to store or conduct business.” However, Arcis and domestic FTZs don’t offer significant tax benefits to collectors. He suggested that the term “tax-free” might sound appealing, although the actual benefits for art collectors are virtually non-existent.
