Biography

Monica Reyes Grajales is an associate in Herrick's Corporate Department. She focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing and restructurings, representing clients across a broad range of industries including consumer products, sports, media and real estate. Monica also has extensive experience in general corporate and securities matters.

Prior to joining Herrick, Monica was a Vice President and Staff Attorney at Plainfield Asset Management LLC, a registered investment adviser to a multi-billion fund platform, and as a result has an insider's knowledge of the many aspects of the private equity investment cycle. While at Plainfield, Monica managed numerous debt and equity investments for private investment funds managed by Plainfield and advised the funds and their portfolio companies in multiple acquisition and financing transactions. She also frequently served as the de facto in-house counsel for the portfolio companies of the private investment funds managed by Plainfield.

At Herrick, Monica leverages her focused corporate and securities experience on a variety of complex projects, including M&A transactions, equity and debt offerings, reorganizations, strategic alliances and joint ventures, corporate finance and governance, corporate, LLC and partnership formations and the investment, management and exit of private equity strategies. She has extensive experience in drafting stock and asset purchase and sale agreements, shareholder agreements, operating agreements and other transactional agreements and documentation.
