Maame Esi is a litigation associate in Herrick’s New York office where her practice focuses on a broad range of commercial disputes including real estate and art law related issues, bankruptcy and white collar criminal defense.
Recently, Maame was a member of the Herrick team that secured a major victory in the Appellate Division of the First department in a dispute over the validity of lease worth several million dollars. Maame is also part of several Herrick teams representing clients in complex litigation before the state and Federal courts.
While in law school, Maame served as a Managing editor of Cornell’s International Law Journal and and was also an associate editor at Cornell’s Legal Information Institute.
Prior to Law School, Maame was Consul and Head of Chancery at the Consulate of Ghana in Toronto and also served as a Harold Oaklander Fellow and law clerk at Maryland Legal Aid.
