Maame Esi is a litigation associate in Herrick’s New York office, where she focuses on a broad range of commercial disputes, including real estate, art law and bankruptcy related issues, and white collar defense.
Recently, Maame was a member of the Herrick team that secured a New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department victory, in a dispute over the validity a multi-million dollar commercial lease. She is also part of several Herrick teams that are currently representing clients in complex litigation in state and federal courts.
While in law school, Maame served as managing editor of Cornell’s International Law Journal, and was an associate editor at Cornell’s Legal Information Institute. Prior to Law School, Maame was Consul and Head of Chancery at the Consulate of Ghana in Toronto, and also served as a Harold Oaklander Fellow and law clerk at Maryland Legal Aid.
