The New York Times

The New York Times interviewed Irwin A. Kishner, co-chair of Herrick's Sports Law Group, on whether the college football season could move forward given the restrictions that may be in place as a result of the coronavirus. Kishner contributed his perspective, alongside the opinions of college athletic coordinators and executives, on the outlook for the upcoming season. The article highlights that college administrators and event promoters are wondering how games will "pencil out" if crowds are prohibited or limited. With respect to the economics of moving forward in these circumstances, Kishner noted, “[t]he math has to work . . . [t]he site isn’t doing it for free.”
