Real Estate Family Business Divorce

Represented a member of a prominent real estate family in a business divorce and estate mediation following the death of the family patriarch, which involved the partition of approximately $500 million in real estate assets previously held by the family-owned business.

Sale of Washington Heights Multifamily Portfolio

Represented Yeshiva University in the sale of a portfolio of ten multifamily properties in the vicinity of its undergraduate campus in Washington Heights. In addition to the sale of the buildings, the transaction included multiple leasing arrangements between Yeshiva University and the buyer, to provide Yeshiva University with the opportunity to continue renting apartments to students and faculty.

281 Fifth Avenue Assemblage and Sale

Represented the KRE Group in the assemblage of a development site including 281 Fifth Avenue, and the sale of the assemblage to Victor Nomad LLC. The deal included an adjacent air parcel with additional development rights and inclusionary housing certificates.

World-Wide Group – Acquisition/Financing/Lease

Represented the World-Wide Group in the acquisition and financing of 209-217 East 63rd Street in New York City from Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital ("MEETH"). The hospital was subdivided into separate tax lots, and World Wide purchased the MEETH annex on 63rd Street and Third Avenue. The acquisition was financed by a $36 million mortgage loan from Helaba. Concurrent with the acquisition, we represented World Wide in a lease with The New York City School Construction Authority, which was then assigned to the Board of Education of the City of New York. The property will be developed by World-Wide as a temporary facility for the public schools that will be demolished and rebuilt by World-Wide in their ongoing project on 57th Street.

World-Wide Group – Condo Construction Financing

Represented World-Wide Group in a $180 million construction loan and mezzanine financing by Helaba and a major international bank for the construction of a high-rise condominium on East 74th Street and Second Avenue. We also represented World-Wide in its acquisition of six neighboring properties and adjoining development rights to create the assemblage, which also included inclusionary housing and 421-a credits.

Ritz Carlton Resort Condominium Financings

Represented an investment bank in senior construction financings of resort condominium projects branded by Ritz Carlton in Maui, Hawaii, Rancho Mirage, Philadelphia, and the Turks & Caicos Islands.

$315 Million 43-Property Portfolio Acquisition

Represented a joint venture between two major real estate companies in its $315 million acquisition and financing of a 43-property portfolio of office and commercial buildings in Long Island, New York.
