Daniel Etna was quoted in Law360 regarding the congressional hearing in front of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade on the daily fantasy sports (DFS) industry. Etna explained that the hearing became a platform for the state of New Jersey to push for legalize sports betting, instead of a forum to debate federal regulation of DFS. "It is hard to draft legislation when you don't understand the subject matter, which was painfully obvious today," Etna said. “The fact that [members of Congress] didn't take the initiative to even follow what was going on was very disappointing to me because I think that this patchwork quilt [of state-by-state regulation] is weakening what was really a vibrant and robust new industry."
